New Material as Support for Nickel Boride Catalyst

چکیده
−− The main objective of this work is to study the feasibility of new materials to be used as support for boron-nickel catalysts. Potential support materials such as: silica gel, alumina, hydrothermal modified Perlites and zeolite 4A, were characterized by BET, TPR and DRX. After the addition of Ni and B, their catalytic activity evaluated with the nitrobenzene hydrogenation model reaction. The influence of operational parameters during the impregnation process such as order of reactants, speed of agitation, time of aging and it influences from the previous thermal treatment were evaluated. The results show that the adequate materials to be used as catalysts supports are the commercial silica and Rehydroxilated Perlite. It is due to the existence of superficial OH groups, which allow the anchorage of the nickel boride catalyst. Keywords−− Supported catalyst-nickel boride-

Towards nickel boride catalyzed C-C coupling reactions
This thesis focuses on the study of nickel boride as a catalyst in various coupling reactions. The nickel boride catalyst was investigated in three different coupling reactions, the experiments aimed at understanding the activity and catalytic properties of nickel boride. We successfully synthetized the nickel boride catalyst, alongside with the cobalt and iron boride. Different methods of prep...
متن کاملAmorphous nickel boride membrane on a platinum–nickel alloy surface for enhanced oxygen reduction reaction
The low activity of the oxygen reduction reaction in polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells is a major barrier for electrocatalysis, and hence needs to be optimized. Tuning the surface electronic structure of platinum-based bimetallic alloys, a promising oxygen reduction reaction catalyst, plays a key role in controlling its interaction with reactants, and thus affects the efficiency. Here we ...
متن کاملPhase-Transformation of Gamma-Allumina to Alpha-Alumina as an Industrial Catalyst Support
The phase transformation of aluminum hydrates yields various forms of alumina (d, q, K) and eventually alpha-alumina. The decrease in the specific surface area of alumina upon heat treatment is due to changes in crystalline structure and hence a decrease in the porosity of the material, Although the conversion of gamma-alumina to alpha-structure takes place with a lowering in surface area and p...
متن کاملEffect of MgAl2O4 catalyst support synthesis method on the catalytic activity of nickel Nano catalyst in reverse water gas shift reaction
In this research effect of synthesis method of magnesium aluminate as support of Ni catalysts at the reverse water gas shift (RWGS) reaction was evaluated. The RWGS reaction is applied in Carbon Dioxide Hydrogenation to Form Methanol via a Reverse Water-Gas Shift Reaction (CAMERE) process for the transformation of CO2 into methanol. The MgAl2O4 supports were prepared by sol-gel (M1), surfactant...
متن کاملSynthesis and characterization of mesoporous alumina with nickel incorporated for use in the partial oxidation of methane into synthesis gas
Mesoporous alumina catalysts that incorporate nickel (Ni-Alumina) with different Ni/Al molar ratios of 1:2, 1:5 and 1:10 were synthesized by a one-step sol–gel method using lauric acid as a template. The prepared Ni-Alumina catalysts showed a relatively high surface area with a narrow pore size distribution after calcination at 700 ◦C; these effects were independent of the Ni/Al molar ratio. Al...
